Lee's television work includes performances in BULLETPROOF (d. Diarmuid Goggins) for Sky, two series of WHITE GOLD (d. Damon Beesley) for the BBC and Netflix, FROM CRADLE TO GRAVE (d. Sandy Johnson) for ITV and THE DRIVER (d. Jamie Payne) for BBC. He played series regular roles in SOUTHCLIFFE (d. Sean Durkin) for Channel 4, Julian Fellowes' TITANIC (d. Jon Jones) which aired on ABC, MOSES JONES (d. Michael Offer) for BBC and in Kudos' LIFE ON MARS (d. SJ Clarkson).
Lee's film work includes FARMING (d. Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) which premiered at TIFF, CONTAINMENT (d. Neil McEnery-West) for which he was awarded Best Actor in a Feature Film at the 2015 Massachusetts Independent Film Festival, A24's LOCKE (d. Steven Knight) which premiered at Venice, Oscar nominated DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES (d. Matt Reeves), CENTURION (d. Neil Marshall), METROLAND (d. Philip Saville), mutli-Oscar nominated and Cannes' Palme D’Or winning SECRETS AND LIES (d. Mike Leigh) and Oscar winning feature THE ENGLISH PATIENT (d. Anthony Minghella).
Lee has extensive experience on stage including productions in London's West End and at The National Theatre, The Royal Court, The Hampstead and The Bush.
Lee’s work has been recognised industry wide. He is the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate from Bedfordshire University for his Outstanding Contribution to the Acting Profession, won the 2014 BBC Audio Drama Award for Best Actor in an Audio Drama for KING DAVID (p. Mary Peate) and was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 2011 Olivier Award’s for his performance as Jack Firebrace in BIRDSONG (d. Trevor Nunn).
